Auto-correlation robustness of factorial designs and GAMS in studying the effects of process variables in a dual-objective adsorption system

Abstract The performance of factorial designs is still limited due to some uncertainties that usually intensify process complexities, hence, the need for inter-platform auto-correlation analyses. In this study, capabilities and General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) on effects pertinent operating variables in wastewater treatment were compared. Individual combined models implemented GAMS solved with trio BARON, CPLEX IPOPT solvers. It revealed adsorbent dosage had highest effect process. contributed most toward obtaining minimum silica TDS contents 13 mg/L 814 mg/L, 13.6 815 from design platforms, respectively. This indicates a concurrence between results two platforms percentage errors 4.4% 0.2% TDS, mixing speed contact time are negligible.
